Baby Lock Changes the Way You Serge
A serger does more than give projects a finished and professional look... this compact machine complements your sewing room. Sergers create ravel-free seams, tight overlock stitches, and decorative edging. But not all sergers are the same, and our customers agree--once you use a Baby Lock serger there's no going back.
Sergers are powerful machines that are a must-have for every sewing enthusiast!
One of the most common questions we receive is "what does a serger do?" The simple answer is that a serger gives a professional looking finish to garments. They also make sewing knits & stretchy material a breeze. Many people don’t know this, but most of the clothing you’re wearing right now was created primarily with a serger.
Depending on the type of finish you are looking for, there are essentially two types of sergers. There are Overlock sergers that cut off the extra fabric and wrap the edge of that fabric with thread to prevent the fabric from unraveling over time. The other type of serger is a Coverlock, which essentially does everything overlock does, without cutting the excess fabric. A coverlock also gives you the ability to create a chain stitch. In summation, sergers are the go-to tool for professional looking seams & garment construction.
